At Meow Petstore, we see the heartbreaking reality of stray and abandoned cats in Beirut every day. This is not just a crisis caused by the recent war in Lebanon—stray and abandoned kittens have been struggling to survive on the streets for years. The situation has only worsened as more families were forced to leave their homes, leaving their pets behind with nowhere to go.
Olivia, a passionate animal lover and supporter of Meow Petstore, has stepped up to help. She has always had a deep love for animals, rescuing kittens and puppies since childhood. Her two dogs, Alfie and Lola, bring so much joy to her life, and it pains her to see any animal suffering. Over the past year, as she traveled to Beirut regularly, she witnessed firsthand the growing number of helpless cats left to fend for themselves.
That’s why Olivia has set up a GoFundMe campaign to support our efforts at Meow Petstore. We are more than just a pet store—we are a sanctuary for these abandoned and stray cats. We provide food, medical care, and work tirelessly to find them loving homes. Every weekday, a vet visits the store to treat sick and injured cats, giving them a second chance at life.
One story that has stayed with us is that of a tiny kitten found in a box with its siblings. The box had been run over by a car, and miraculously, this little one survived. Thanks to Meow Petstore, it was rushed to safety, given medical care, and eventually found a home. Sadly, this isn’t a rare case—this happens far too often in Beirut.
We know we can’t save every animal in need, but we can do something. And so can you.
